Choosing an Unverferth Grain Cart

If you’re a row crop farmer in the Midwest, then you’ll know how important it is to have a reliable grain cart for your operation. Most operations use a tractor and grain cart to move through the field to offload the content of their combine harvester, transport the cart to the edge of the field, and unload it into a grain hauler.

Castongia Tractor is proud to offer Unverferth products and we’d love to help you find a grain cart that meets your needs.

Grain Capacity

One of the first considerations when choosing a grain cart is the load capacity. Unverferth makes high-capacity grain carts for optimal efficiency and hauling capability, but there are other options available if you don’t need a high-capacity cart. When you consider capacity, think about the capacity of your combine, how many acres you’ll need to cover, and the horsepower of your tractor.

Tire Choice

When it comes to grain carts, you also have the option to choose different styles of tires. Some grain carts come with traditional wheels, but others are available with tracks. Tracks can be more beneficial for larger hauling capacities and can also work well on softer ground because of the weight distribution.

Unloading Speed

The power of your auger will also be a major deciding factor when you choose a grain cart. The unloading speed of the grain cart is essential for maintaining productivity during harvesting. Unverferth offers various unloading options, so it's important to select one that aligns with the demands of your operation.

There are a lot of factors to consider as you begin shopping for a grain cart and we hope you’ll visit us in DeMotte, Fowler, Rensselaer, or Valparaiso to browse the options from Unverferth. We proudly serve the farmers of Northwest Indiana.
