John Deere Precision Technology You Should Know About

December 22, 2023

Available technologies continue to grow and evolve.

Precision agriculture continues to expand as more and more innovations are adopted in the equipment industry. From autonomy to single-plant targeting, there are endless advancements on the horizon. We believe John Deere® has the leading technology in the industry and we are excited about the upcoming possibilities for more efficient crop care and operating processes. Whether you’re all-in for new tech or just want to see what’s available, keep reading to learn about some of the current options at the forefront of precision agriculture.

Operations Center™

Data has become essential in our world, and that doesn’t exclude the agriculture industry. We have more information than ever before about our soil, crops, nutrients, and equipment performance. Whether you’re interested in agronomy or mechanics, the John Deere® Operations Center™ can help you keep track of it all. Features like Work Planner can help you strategically plan your upcoming planting and harvest seasons while all of your information can seamlessly be transferred between the organizations you choose. If you haven’t created an account, you’re missing out on a lot of incredible options.

See & Spray™ Technology

Things like fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides are critical for the production of many different types of crops. These tools reduce the number of pests and add crucial nutrients to allow the plants to grow successfully. However, there are advantages of using fewer amounts of these tools and only using them on plants and soil that truly need those additives.

With the new See & Spray™ Ultimate technology, plant targeting can be accomplished when you apply your products. You can utilize the dual-tank system for efficient weed control as a large number of cameras and sensors work quickly to identify weeds in the field. The spray will only be applied to those target areas, reducing the amount of product used, lowering crop stress, and optimizing your time and inputs!

Castongia Tractor is excited to have a See & Spray™ Ultimate demo machine available this spring. Reach out to your Sales Consultant or our Integrated Solutions team for more information.

AutoTrac™ Turn Automation

Another technology option that will improve your overall efficiency is AutoTrac™ Turn Automation. This feature takes auto guidance a step further by turning your machine around at the end of the field. During harvest, planting, and fieldwork, you can stay on track by utilizing this feature. Your monitor will alert you as you come close to the end of the boundary, and then you can engage the turn automation for your machine to turn around and continue on its path.

Accurate field boundaries and awareness of obstacles are necessary for this precision technology to function correctly and safely.

Machine Sync Technology

Another available advanced automation technology is the Machine Sync capability. This function allows you to control your grain cart tractor from the cab of your combine to effectively maintain speed and position as the operator collects the harvested crop. This can be beneficial if you have a newer operator in the seat or when field conditions aren’t optimal for visibility. By using In-Field Data Sharing, you can also monitor the progress of harvest, different machine locations, guidance lines, and more.

These examples only scratch the surface of what John Deere® precision technology has to offer. We will continue to see advancements, additions, and changes that alter the way we grow and harvest crops, care for livestock, and maintain our lawns.
