Renew Your Existing Farm Equipment with Precision Upgrades

Technology continues to grow and change rapidly in the agricultural equipment industry. Basic equipment guidance technology has grown into the vision of fully autonomous equipment. It might feel daunting to keep up with the latest advancements as these shifts continue, but there are ways to upgrade your equipment without purchasing an entirely new machine. Precision upgrade kit installations are a great solution for renewing your machine without buying new iron.

Castongia Tractor can discuss your operation goals and your current equipment to determine what upgrades would be available and economical for your business. Continue reading to learn about a few of the most common precision upgrade options.

LED Lighting

The lighting on your equipment might seem operational enough, but upgrading to ultimate LED lighting can increase your available working hours when you already have tight deadlines to meet. On planters, the ultimate LED lighting kit can illuminate the entire toolbar, enhancing visibility beyond the ends of your planter and at each row unit. Higher visibility can result in better obstacle detection, quicker identification of plugs, and the ability to work later in the day or get started earlier.

LED light kits can also be added to your combine harvester. This kit illuminates your outer cab, rear discharge area, and unloading auger with more lumens for better visibility. You’ll also have the ability to point your row finder light exactly where you need it to shine.

LED lighting upgrades are available for most models, including many sprayer models, so ask your Castongia Tractor Sales Consultant or Parts Counter personnel for details.

Planter Upgrades

There are also several precision upgrades available for row planters. Many of these upgrades have proven to have direct agronomic benefits, improving emergence, spacing, and population. We know how important it is to meet the planting window and upgrading your existing unit can add efficiencies to reduce your overall time to plant.

A few popular John Deere planter upgrades include ExactEmerge™, ExactShot™, FurrowVision™, frame weight distribution, and individual row hydraulic downforce.

Combine Upgrades

After you’ve upgraded your planter to improve your population and stands, you may want to consider adding upgrades to your combine harvester to take full advantage of higher yields.

Cross auger shutoff is a popular choice for many operators. This feature allows you to automatically empty the unloading auger, reducing the total grain weight in your auger and reducing the torque on auger start-up. You’ll reduce the overall wear and tear on your S700 and S7 series combine unloading augers.

Another upgrade option is a remote separator grate cover. These covers are controlled straight from the cab, reducing the number of times you have to climb in and out of the combine to make adjustments. You’ll be able to remotely manage your separator grate during harvest, improving your ability to adjust the machine for different crop conditions.

Sprayer Upgrades

If you utilize a chemical program, you’ll also want to know about the available sprayer precision upgrades. From nozzle control and targeted spraying, John Deere has several impressive opportunities to lower your inputs and increase production. ExactApply™, See & Spray™ Premium, and individual nozzle control options can all change the way your sprayer accomplishes application. Ask your Sales Consultant if your sprayer model qualifies for these precision upgrade opportunities.
