Ways to Celebrate 2024 National Ag Day

Ways to Celebrate 2024 National Ag Day

March 19, 2024, is the official start of Spring, but this year, it’s also National Ag Day! People from across the country will be celebrating through events, broadcasts, and social media posts. Although Castongia Tractor celebrates agriculture every day, we want to share a quick list of ways you can get involved this Ag Day.

Events in Washington D.C.

One of the main purposes of National Ag Day is to promote and share the industry; in all sectors and of all sizes. USDA is hosting an event from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. with different speakers, ranging from the Secretary of Agriculture to a panel of students. Then, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., there will be Congressional speakers and remarks from the Ag Day Chair on the Hill. When you register, you can also enjoy lunch!

Events are hosted in D.C. to bring awareness to government officials and the public.

Virtual Ag Day Event

If you can’t make it to D.C., you can tune in from your couch or office! Starting at 9 a.m. EST, you can watch the Ag Day broadcast via Zoom. You can register
here to join for updates from Ag on the Mall, Ag Day partners, and different commodity groups. You’ll also find out who the essay contest winners are for 2024.

Local Involvement

Across the U.S., different organizations and individuals will be honoring Ag Day, and there is a good chance you can find a local event to attend. Watch for local FFA Chapter events, farm visits, lunches, and more! A quick search should be enough to help you find a way to celebrate. And if not, why not consider having your own celebration or event?

Social Media

Whether you’re a large-scale farmer or a backyard gardener, you have an agricultural story to tell. Ag Day is all about showcasing the abundance agriculture provides, so why not share its impact through social media? Even if you don’t consider yourself a digital creator, you can interact with content to spread the word!

There are countless ways to celebrate National Ag Day and we hope you’re excited for the First Day of Spring and a day to honor the products, producers, officials, and individuals involved in the industry. Watch our social media pages for facts and videos on Ag Day and stop by any of our locations to say hello. We are proud to serve the agricultural communities of Northwest Indiana.
